    Made initial flight on XP-54 with XH2470 Lycoming Engine on 15 Jan 1943, on XA-41 on 11 Feb 1944 and on XP81 on 7 Feb 1945 and XP-81 with General Electric TG-100 engine, the first U.S. Turboprop (propjet) on 21 Dec 1945.

    Member National Academy of Engineering

    Fellow, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

    Received AIAA design medal for development of the delta wing for supersonic flight – first operational aircraft was F-102.

    As Chief Engineer and subsequently President of the Ft. Worth Division and Convair Aerospace Division of General Dynamics Corp., was responsible for development of the B-58, F-111, F-16 and the Cruise missile.
