    Fred Johnson's career in aviation engineering spanned more than 35 years, almost entirely with General Electric's Jet Engine Division working on jet engine development and in tool and field support. He received numerous GE engineering awards for his work on engines for the SST, C-5 military transport, B-1 bomber and figher aircraft, such as the F-14 and F-18. He retired from GE in 1990. Fred graduated from Middletown High School, in Middletown, OH, in 1946 and attended the University of Cincinnati, Miami University (Ohio) and Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Officers Armored Training School at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He completed numerous GE-sponsored business and engineering courses and was awarded second place in GE's corporate public speaking competition.
