Fred (Rocky) Rockelein has long been associated with the airline industry. He owned and flew a Louis Stearman PT 17 aircraft back in the 1940s. His career began working for Glen L. Martin in Baltimore. In 1942 he joined American Airlines at LaGuardia Airport, and worked for AAL until retirement in 1989. He began as a mechanic, progressed to Inspector and lastly taught maintenance as an Instructor.
Fred lives on Long Island with his wife (also an AA’er) his son and two granddaughters.
