    Dr. Frederick J. Lisy has been chosen for the National Aviation and Space Exploration Wall of Honor due to his contributions to the exploration of space and advancements and inventions of improved aircraft control.

    Dr. Lisy is the vice president of Orbital Research Inc., a company dedicated to the development of Improved aircraft and spacecraft systems. Dr. Lisy was the primary inventor of the Deployable Flow Control Device (US Patent 6,105,904), a microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) device for controlling boundary layer flow on air/water vehicles. He has directed Orbital Research in the creation of new flight control, path planning, and group behavior algorithms for air/space vehicles.

    Prior to joining Orbital Research Inc., Dr. Lisy led the space flight experiments team at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Center for Commercialization of Space at Case Western Reserve University. As the Senior Research Scientist, he was responsible for monitoring eight passive and one active shuttle experiments that produced next generation materials and coatings for space structures.
