Drafted into Army in April 1941. Applied for Aviation Cadet. Trained in biplanes in Camden, South Carolina. Had fighter training in El Mesa, Texas. Flew liaison flight in India, China and Burma during WWII over 1,000 hours. Discharged in May 1945.
