    Honored by:
    Mr. Michael Burlein

Friedrich Burlein was born in Germany in 1936 during the depression. He learned cabinet making as a trade in Germany and practiced that trade in Germany and Switzerland before immigrating to the United States in 1958.

He served in the US Army from 1960 through 1962, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. After being honorably discharged from the Army he returned to Philadelphia, PA, where he worked as a cabinet maker.

He became a US citizen in 1968. He was active in the German community and the soccer community in Philadelphia. Since his retirement he has witnessed several launches at Cape Canaveral. He visits the National Air and Space Museum every chance he gets and is eagerly looking forward to the opening of the new National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport.
