My interest in and love of airplanes began at the age of two when I sat in my father's lap in a WWI Jenny as we were flown over the local airport and town.
Growing up I learned as much as I could about planes, built models from scratch and later joined the Army National Guard and went to flight school where I earned my wings, became a Captain and flew L-19s and helicopters.
Starting in 1992 I began volunteering every summer to work in the archives of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. I have continued doing this through 2003 and plan to continue as long as I am able.
