In August of 1944 George worked for Ames Aero Lab (now NASA). He went on Icing Flights in B-17F and C-46 planes testing de-icing equipment. He became an Ensign in Oct. ’44 then LTjg 1946, designing swept wings and drag reduction at Moffett, Ames Lab, CA. 1958-1961 worked on tests in supersonic tunnels (NACA had become NASA-Ames Research Ctr. Oct 1958). He then became Chief Development Projects Officer responsible for Ames Master Plan. He worked on fallout shelters, land requisition- Facilities Directors Staff Assistant. Retired from NASA 10 Oct. 1981.
