    George A. Kern
    George A. Kern was an accomplished engineer who spent his career working to better aviation technology. At Astro Reliability Corporation, George was responsible for developing specifications and qualification test requirements for night vision devices for the US army. He also served as a group leader with the Radar Systems Group at Hughes Aircraft Company, specializing in aircraft weapon system controls and displays for the F-14, F-15 and B-52 aircraft. He went on to become principal engineer at the MITRE Corporation where he developed recommendations for improvements to ESD’s RISE Handbook, the principal vehicle for their implementation of the Air Force 800 Series Acquisition Management policies. He also lectured extensively on reliability, maintainability and logistics for the Department of Defense and the Air Force University. George received several awards including an award for outstanding service from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1979, an award of appreciation from the Department of Defense, Defense Systems Management College in 1981, and an award of appreciation and recognition of outstanding contributions from OSD/IDA R&M Study in 1983.
