    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Col. William Cooper

George Robert "Bob" Blayzor (1926 - 2007) was a World War II veteran. He received his Mechanical Engineering degree from Michigan State University. He spent his professional career in the aerospace industry during the height of the "Space Race" working first for General Dynamics and then TRW. He was one of the engineers who worked on the early Atlas program which helped put man in space, and later was involved with the engineering efforts behind the Apollo Moon missions. He also worked on the Orbiting Geophysical Observatory (OGO), the High Energy Astronomical Observatory (HEAO) and the Gamma Ray Observatory (GRO). But possibly his most important work cannot be discussed. Let's just say he worked on other key engineering programs that, to this day, our National Security can be thankful for.
