4/53-6/53 Gunnery combat training, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas. NV. Trained in air-to-air and air-to-ground support tactics. Flew F-80's and F-86's.
6/53-3/54 Assigned to 27th FIS, 4711th Def. Wg. at Griffiss AFB. Rome. NY. Flew air defense
missions in F-86.
3/54-8/54 Assigned to 16tn FIS. 51st FIW at K-13 Korea. Flew several "show of force" missions
to the Yalu River in F-86E.
8/54-11/55 Assigned to 4th FIS. 49tn FBW at Misawa AFB. Japan. Flew all-weather air defense missions in F-86D. Was one of five pilots selected to represent the 4 FIS in the FEAF Rocket Meet.
