Soloed at Ithaca, NY under Civilian Training Program (CTP).

Instructed in CTP while attending Cornell University.

Enlisted US Navy 1942 - flight instructor, fighter pilot, carrier qualified.

Test Pilot for the Boeing Co. - B-47 and B-52.

Qualified in many Navy and commercial propeller and jet airplanes and general aviation airplanes.

Life member of Society of Experimental Test Pilots and Association of Naval Aviation, Inc. Senior Member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics; member of Quiet Birdmen, OX-5 Aviation Pioneers, and United Flying Octogenarians.
