Gordon Mason Davis was a commercial pilot for 33 years, during which time he logged over 35,000 hour of flight time.
He flew for Eastern Airlines, American Flyers Charter Company, Saturn Airways, Trans American and Southern Airlines. Most of his flying time was involved with commercial passenger and freight movement.
He has flown Super Constellations, DC-8’s, Boeing 707’s and 727’s; and the unforgettable Hercules (“The Herc”).
At different times in Gordon’s career he flew troops and materiel into two war zones. He flew troops into Danang during the Vietnam War and landed military cargo into Angola, sometimes under the danger of hostile ground fire.
