Born April 21, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the United States Air Force from Nov. 18, 1952 – Nov. 17, 1956. After Ground Communications and Radar Equipment Repair School at Scott AFB, he was stationed at Anderson AFB, Guam. He received the Good Conduct Award and the National Defense Service Medal. After his tour of duty he was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). He was a Radar Technician at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport. He loved every aspect of aviation from model airplanes to B-747s.
