BS EECS: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Engineer/Manager: 1982-2002, TRW Corporation, Space Division located at Redondo Beach California.
Engineer/Manager: 2002 to 2018, Northrop Grumman Corporation, after it merged with TRW located at Redondo Beach, California.

Proudly worked on many NASA, DOD and International programs through my 35 years of Service at TRW/Northrop Grumman as:
    - Electrical Systems Design and Integration Engineer/Manager
    - Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC Engineer)/Manager
    - System Engineering - Engineer/Manager
    - Led many technical teams and managed various departments as Department Manager.

Major Contribution to many air and space programs in support of National Defense, interplanetary exploration and earth observation. Major program supported were:

Defense Support Program (DSP ): DSP is a program of the U.S. Air Force that operates the reconnaissance satellites which form the principal component of the Satellite Early Warning System currently used by the United States. I participated in critical design reviews, integration and test and multiple launches in mid to late 1980s.

Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO): CGRO was part of NASA's "Great Observatories" series, along with the Hubble Space Telescope, the Chandra X-ray Observatory, and the Spitzer Space Telescope. I performed design/development/launch and post launch data analysis. Launched in April 1991.

Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer – Earth Probe (TOMS-EP): NASA Satellite for long-term daily mapping of the global distribution of the Earth's atmospheric ozone. My main role consisted of System Electrical Design and Test. Launched in July 1996

Republic of China (Taiwan) Satellite-1 (ROCSAT-1): Worked jointly with the Taiwanese national engineering team to develop that nation’s very first low earth orbit satellite. Its mission was to perform ocean color imaging, space telecommunication, and solar-terrestrial physics. I mentored several Taiwanese Engineers on the details of requirements/design/integration and test. Launched in January 1999.

Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXO): is a Flagship-class space observatory. The data gathered by Chandra has greatly advanced the field of X-ray astronomy. Launched in July 1999. NASA Administrator Dan Goldin presented me with a Group Achievement Award for technical expertise, personal dedication and diligence in the program development.

Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite (KOMPSAT): Worked jointly with South Korean national engineering team to develop that nation’s very first low-orbit earth observation satellite with optical and imaging radar and IR observation capabilities. I mentored several South Korean Engineers on the details of requirements/design/integration and test. Launched in December 1999.

NASA’s Aqua and Aura Satellites: Aqua (EOS PM-1) and Aura (EOS CH-1) are both scientific research satellite in low earth orbit (LEO). Aqua studies the precipitation, evaporation, and cycling of water and was launched in May 2002. Aura studies the Earth's ozone layer, air quality and climate and was launched in July 2004. My most significant contribution was leading the Command and Telemetry Management Database team.

Department Manager from 2004 to 2018: Managed several large and technically diverse departments consisting of engineering experts from various fields (Electrical Design Integration, EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility}, Space Radiation Effects, Cable and Harness, System Safety, Aircraft Live Fire and Cyber Security including EMC and Radiation Test labs. I was responsible for the educational growth of my department personnel, their program assignments along with technically reviewing the program performances during major design reviews. Major programs reviews performed for the B2, F35, Global Hawk Airframes and many satellite programs besides those listed above.
