Joined NASA, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas in 1963, as Chief Space Medicine, subsequently promoted to Assistant Director, Medical Operations. Participated in Projects Mercury, Gemini and Apollo and Spacelab. Twenty two years with NASA. Prior to joining NASA, participated in the development and flight operations of the X-15 and the XB-10. Two years at the School of Aerospace Medicine, USAF, Brooks Field, San Antonio, TX as a cardiovascular physiologist and altitude physiologist. Undergraduate degree Trinity University. Graduate degrees University of Texas in Austin and the Medical Center Houston.
