Honored by:
Served on active duty in the U.S. Army Air Forces and Air Force from December 1941 to 1945 and from 1946 to 1948, then served in the Air Force Reserve. He was a crew chief on B-25 Mitchell bombers in the Pacific and on B-17 Flying fortresses in Europe, then on C-74 Globemasters in Europe during the Berlin Airlift. He received numerous combat and service medals.
