Inducted into U. S. Army Air Corps Feb. 2m 1943. After basic Training at Clearwater Florida, went to Chanute Field, IL for Power Plant School and Teletype school. Was assigned to the 30th Bomb Group at Riverside, CA then to Hammer Field , Fresno, CA, then to Mills Field, South San Francisco, to Las Vegas Gunnery School and then to B-29 training at Pratt, KS. Our crew led by Captain Ted Morgan as Aircraft Commander, participated in the First B-29 raid over Tokyo, Nov. 24, 1944.
