Born in Mayville, NY November 10, 1922, he attended schools in Fredonia and Dunkirk, NY. He joined the Navy Reserves in 1940 and was called into active duty prior to Pearl Harbor Day. He served in WWII in Navy Air Squadron CBP-34, earning three Air Medals and other awards. He remained in the Reserves until 1955.
His civilian career included training positions with the Dept. of Navy – Teacher, Norfolk Shipyard Apprentice School and Personnel Training, Norfolk Supply Center, before moving to the Washington area. He retired as Director of the Navy Logistics Training Center, Washington, DC, and was awarded the Superior Civilian Award. He died October 3, 2003.
