    Lt. Col. Harry E. Ramsay
    Harry was born in Fairfield, Iowa on 16 April 1929. He was the son of Ralph Elmer and Lena Alice Ramsay. He attended elementary and high school in Fairfield. He graduated from Parson College with a B.S Degree in Education.
    After graduating from college he entered the Air Force and served for 20 years from 1951 to 1971. His Basic training in the Air Force is as follows:
    AT6 and T28 aircraft. Jet Fighter Bombers F80 and F86, Jet Instructor Pilot Training Course, TAC Sea Survival School, Survival training as a prisoner. Jungle Survival School, Jet Fighter Instructor School F4 Aircraft, Squadron Officers School and Boston University. Public Relations and Communications.
    Over a twenty year span, he flew combat in Korean and Vietnam conflicts and served in Germany on missile fighters; instructed in T- 33, F- 86, F-102 and F~ 4 aircraft; Information Officers at all levels of command(base, wing, division, major command headquarters). Ten years experience in performance of duties include community relations, public information, unit histories personnel administration and counseling, briefings for audiences up to and including four star officers and Members of Congress.
    Harry was commended for by air force officials for the skillful manner in which he landed a damaged jet plane loaded with "hot" rockets when the nose wheel became locked. He was awarded a metal of Expeditionary Service while participating in aerial combat. While he was a member of 4453rd Combat Crew Training Wing, he had to eject from his F4 and suffered a fractured vertebrae. Some of his duties for community relations were to fly a few civilians and most famous of all was Jimmy Stewart.
