Heidi Margaret Stager has been serving the international flying public as a Delta flight attendant since 1985. She was delighted to join an airline that exuded Southern hospitality, a trait that comes naturally to her.
An American citizen raised in German, she speaks fluent German, and has assured countless passengers a more pleasant Atlantic crossing. If you telephone her before a typical three-day trip away from home, chances are you will find her pressing her uniform to perfection.
She often redirects lost travelers on her own time, and calms the fears of first-time flyers from cultures around the world. She has helped a businessman far from home through a heart attack while on board, as frightened colleagues and passengers looked to her for leadership.
In uncertain times, when she doubts the future of high-level on-board service, she will say, "I'm just a glorified drinks-pourer!" However, we know her to be a highly-trained professional who is an ambassador for her country and her company. We depend on her, and colleagues like her, to welcome us on board, and to do their best to make flying a peaceful experience we would want to repeat.
