Started studying airplanes and aircraft mechanics as teenager. Enlisted in Army Air Corps in 1940. Assigned to Flying Fortress School and became an instructor there in 1943. Discharged from the Army in 1946. Worked as a Master Aircraft Mechanic until his retirement in the aviation industry.
His reputation for excellence resulted in many pilots bringing their private planes to him!
