Our father, Herb Porter, not only has a passion for flying, but is also a part of aviation history. His early passion enabled him to obtain his license by the age of 19. His aviation contribution came when he worked as a lab technician at CTL making the re-entry heat shield for the one-man and two-men space capsules.
Today, he continues to share his passion by teaching others. He has been honored by the Federal Aviation Administration by receiving the 1999 General Aviation Flight Instructor of the Year Award. Our father has earned the right to be a part of this prestigious honor and dedication to the history of aviation.
