Herbert D. Kredit graduated from USAF Cadet class 52-H at Williams AFB, Arizona. After gunnery school at Nellis AFB, he served in Korea with the 8th Fighter-Bomber Wing, 36th Fighter-Bomber Squadron from June 1953 thru May 1954.
After Korea he served with the 3215th Drone Squadron at Eglin AFB, Florida. While there he was involved with Operation Teapot, flying F-80 drones through an atomic bomb blast at the Nevada Atomic Test site. He was discharged in Dec 1955.
While completing college (BsAe), he flew with the Indiana Air National Guard at Fort Wayne for 2-1/2 years.
He worked in flight test departments of two San Diego aerospace companies till 1975 after which he entered the private business sector.
