NASM Wall of Honor Biographical Summary
    Howard W. Hill III (1963-2015)
Howard was a friend of aviation. While not a pilot himself, he enjoyed going for flights in his best friend’s Cessna 172. He was a fan of World War II airplanes, especially the P-51 Mustang. He was thrilled to go for rides on the B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator operated by the Collings Foundation. Howard was also a supporter of space exploration. Like many of us, he marvelled at the pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope. His favorite was the Eagle Nebula Pillars of Creation. He also followed NASA’s planetary exploration missions. In particular, he was very excited when the Spirit and Opportunity rovers landed on Mars. Howard’s name is on the Wall of Honor along side his best friend of 36 years, John P. McDonald. Howard was the very best son, the very best brother, the very best uncle, and the very best friend anyone could ever have. He is greatly missed.
