    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Leader

    Honored by:

I first found an interest in aviation through building model airplanes, a hobby I still enjoy. I was fortunate in receiving the "gift of wings" from my grandparents, and I learned to fly after my first year of university. I served as a UH-1 crew chief in the Army in Viet Nam, and was forever hooked on the sky after that. I used my GI benefits to earn the certificates and ratings necessary to become a professional pilot and enjoyed a challenging career in civil aviation as an educator, pilot and leader. That prepared me for my next step, when I joined the FAA as an inspector in Seattle. In the FAA, I developed a fulfilling and rewarding second career as an inspector and a third career as a supervisor and manager.
Flying has brought me many special gifts, incredible and amazing experiences, along with equally amazing friends. I met my beloved wife while flight instructing at a little airport in Petaluma, CA, and our children enjoyed their first flights at early ages. I am grateful to the many who shared their time, talents and interest, starting with my grandparents and continuing on with the aviation professional I work with today.
