    Irving Eitches: Directly after Irving graduated from CCNY in 1942, majoring in engineering, he enlisted in the Army (Air Corp). After attending officer training School at Yale, as part of the Army Air Corps, Lt. Eitches was assigned to a very large cruiser near New Guinea. He remained connected with what became the Air Force, rising to Lt. Colonel and then becoming a civilian DOD employees. From 1951 until retirement, he worked at the Rome, Air Development Center (RADC) at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. New York. He directed an operation dealing with electronic countermeasures, blocking the ability of attacking airplanes to use their radar successfully.

    Shirley Breger Eitches After receiving a Masters in nutrition from NYU in 1942, Shirley enlisted in the Army (Air Corp). As a Captain, she ran food services for a very large cruiser near New Guinea. She lost a ring, which Lt. Irving Eitches found. After the war, she was admitted to Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania, expecting to be a doctor. However, she was required to agree not to marry as a condition of admission. Lt. Eitches convinced Shirley to marry him, convincing her to reject the offer.
