    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Ms. Maureen S. Teele

My honoree, Jack Knight, was one of the first pilots to carry the mail by air, night and day, across the country in adverse conditions, to prove to Congress that it could be done. Since childhood I have collected many articles, one from "Believe it or Not" by Ripley, two or three more illustrated in funny papers from the Chicago Tribune, two articles with photos from both Coronet and Smithsonian magazines, and the back of a Wheaties package with his picture on which one could send for a brass bracelets like aviators then wore, with his engraved signature on the back(which was sent for and attached ) plus a hard cover book for children entitled Jack Knight and an 8x10 profile photo reading “Happy Landings Always to Marilyn” and autographed by him and given me by Lois, his wife. I am very proud of this cousin as are our sons!

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
