Wall of Honor Level:
Air and Space Friend

Honored by:
Lloyd Jackson

From a very early age, as witnessed by his four-year old Christmas gift of a space suit, of which he was very proud. We have visited the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. about fifteen times having fun each time.

I attended high school in Sheffield, AL. with future astronaut Bob Stewart who made the first untethered space walk. He graciously presented Jackson Thomas with an autographed color photo several years ago inscribed "Jackson, always reach for the Stars". Jackson proudly has it hanging on his wall today.

The pilot of the SR-71 Blackbird in the Smithsonian was flown by Col.
Ed Yielding in a record trans-continental time of 67 minutes. He is a resident of nearby Florence, AL. and we met and Jackson Thomas presented him with a cap featuring the SR-71 and Col. Yielding presented Jackson with an autographed photo of the SR-71 and his co-pilot after landing the record flight.

Jackson will deem in a distinct honor to have his name and profile placed among the other National Wall of Honor members.

Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
