    Colonel Jim Cook ( 1929-2007) Jim was an F-100 Pilot in the 107TFG of the NYANG ; he also flew the F-94C F-84, F-86H, F-101B, F-4C, F-4D and the F-16C. Jim flew the F-100 in Thy Hoa Viet Nam in 1968-69 for 285 combat sorties. He was the operations officer of the 136th TFS while serving in Thy Hoa. Jim received the DFC and several Air Medals for his service there. Jim lived in Western, NY most of his life and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in the Town of Tonawanda, NY. He passed away from complications of prostate cancer and he is survived by his wife, Helen and one son. Jim served as Squadron Commander of the 136th TFS and FIS and retired as Group Commander of the 107th TFG, NYANG and then later retired as Base Commander Niagara Falls AFB, NY.
