    James C. Stewart, Jr. passed his Aviation Cadet Entrance exam for the Army Air Corps on 9/8/1942. On 1/4/1944 James graduated from Advanced Flight School Training at Douglas, Arizona. He received orders to report to Victorville, Ca. as a Flight Instructor to prepare pilots and bombardiers for WWII. He taught hundreds of new pilots and bombardiers to fly AT-11s, AT-7s, P-39s, B-25s and B26s. During the war he served his country as a Flight Instructor in Del Rio, TX, Yuma, Az., Douglas, Az., and Victorville, Ca. He logged 1,200-1,300 flight hours at Victorville and was one of the most senior pilots. At the end of WWII, James entered the Air Force Reserves and remained active until 1959. He retired from the Air Force Reserves in 1959, in the rank of Captain.
