A dedicated husband, father, son, friend and pilot, James (Jimbo) Scambos grew up with the love of flying and taught his children the same.
He was a veteran pilot honored as a hero after selflessly maneuvering a crippled aircraft away from a heavily congested area; he was able to protect the lives of all...all except himself.
He is missed and loved by all. He has inspired immensely.
