    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Friend

    Honored by:
    Mr. Maurice H. Hammack

A dedicated flying enthusiast, Mr Fordham still maintains his zeal for aviation. A stroke has taken a toll on his physical well being but his mental facilities are amazing for a person 90 years of age (in 2004).

His private flying spanned over 60 years and he had four "airstrips" at one time. He still has an interest and owns 3 private landing areas in eastern North Carolina. His pride and joy is a 3300-foot lighted grass strip on the Intercoastal Waterway (Adams Creek) near Merrimon, NC, 12 miles north of the Smith (MRH) Airport in Beaufort, NC.

Ace survived a mid-air collision and made the Paul Harvey program. A Cherokee airplane "landed" on top of his Cessna 210 as he was near touchdown at the Downtown Rocky Mount, NC Airport. "Ace" was relatively uninjured and has an exciting story to tell to this day in 2004.
