James R. Metzger has provided unwavering dedication and contributions to the NASA Goddard Flying Club and the Washington, DC area flying community for more than 20 years. Jim has been an inspiration and his contributions and participation in most all Club activities has been an example for the other members to follow.

Jim has tirelessly preformed the duties of Treasurer since October 1982, giving the Club a rock solid financial foundation that has been key to the Club's well being, growth and prosperity, and enabled it to contribute to the community through such services as the annual "Wings of Warmth" charity drive, the Oshkosh "kid to camp" program, and past contributions to the College Park Airfair. Further he has served over the same period as the Club's Chart Agent, providing wholesale chart services including all of the FAA/NOAA flying documentation that Club Members require for safe and legal flying.

Jim has always been a leader in organizing all Club activities, including annual Club picnics, special meetings and Club functions, often placing himself at the door to organize, streamline and provide a welcoming face for the Club members and guests.

Upon the occasion of his well-earned retirement, we therefore would like to recognize Jim's long-term contributions with a place in the National Air and Space Museum "Wall of Honor."
