    Mr. Rowe graduated from the University of Denver in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Graduate work was done at the University of Colorado, Denver Extension. His 46 plus years of experience have been primarily in the structural analysis field with experience in aircraft, large boosters, spacecraft heat shield structure, spacecraft thermal protection system, missiles (including load development), thermal protection system for miscellaneous proposal efforts, and miscellaneous hot metallic structures.
    Mr. Rowe joined North American Aviation in 1962 and his interest in the field of thermal protection systems began with the structural analysis of the Apollo Forward Heat Shield. Following that was the analysis of the Space Shuttle Orbiter thermal protection system tiles. As a supervisor in the Shuttle IPS Structural Analysis Group, he was responsible for determining the structural integrity of the Penetration tiles and part of the aerodynamic seal system. He is the co-developer of the tools used to analyze the Orbiter tiles and is the author, or co-author, of several papers pertaining to the thermal protection system design and or analysis.
