    Captain Jerome “Moe” Zavar began his career in aviation as an aviation mechanic for Piedmont Airlines in 1964. His aviation career continued as a Maintenance Ground Instructor before becoming a Co-Pilot for Piedmont Airlines in 1966. Moe held an A&P Maintenance License, Maintenance Ground Instructor, parachute bagger, Super Constellation Flight Engineer certificates. International Captain with type ratings in Boeing 757, 767, and many other certificates and ratings. Captain “Moe” retired in 1999 from USAirways, with a career that spanned 35 years. At the time of his retirement, he had accumulated 23,000 accident-free hours of flight time. He continues to log hours as a private pilot.
