James Howerton was a 2nd Lt. with the 336 Squadron at Kimpo AB, Korea. During his combat tour he was credited with 1.5 aerial victories. He retired from the Air Force in 1973 after 22 years of active duty, one combat tour in F-86s in 1953 and another in Thailand Flying F-105s from June 1968 to June 1969.
Lt. Col Howerton passed away in 1991. His name is inscribed here as a tribute from his family to his one true passion, flying fighters.
