Al Lewis worked in the commercial communications satellite industry for more than 20 years. He started with British Aerospace as a propulsion engineer working on European Space Agency (ESA) programs including European Communications Satellite (ECS) and Maritime European Communications Satellite (MARECS).
After moving to the US he was involved in the systems engineering management and program management of the Spacenet, GSTAR, ASC, ANIKE1/E2, BS3b, and Koreasat programs and in business development of mobile satellite systems.
