    His interest started early with model building and flying model airplanes. He had his first plane ride in a Cub and loved the view.

    1948-1952 served in the US Navy as an aviation electronics technician.

    1975 made first parachute jump (totaled 5 jumps).

    Late 1970s had his first ride in an open cockpit plane.

    1976 Started pilot training. Completed ground school and nearly all of flight school except a few solo flights.

    1981 Flew in a hot air balloon to 14,000 feet (he had climbed to the summit of Mt Elbert at just over 14,000 feet).

    1980s joined Loren Hedge Chapter of Experimental Aircraft Association.

    1996-1998 Along with several fiends built a plane from "scratch" using some materials salvaged from old planes (e.g., landing gear from World War II bomber). They named the plane "Vamp" (a mixture of Champ & Vagabond style planes).

    In 1994 flew a B-17 bomber.
