    John's entire career was as a scientist at the NASA John Glenn Center, Cleveland, OH, in the fields of jet engine turbine design and high temperature materials. Inventor of high temperature nickel base alloys for turbine blade and cobalt base alloys for space power systems.
    Author of book chapter on high temperature alloy design and over one hundred technical publications. Recipient of NASA Metal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement for outstanding contributions in the advancement of high temperature materials technology and in the science of metal fatigue. Received Industrial Research IR100 awards in 1968, 1974 and 1978.
    Affiliations: Fellow Emeritus, American Institute of Chemists; Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics; Senior Member of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS).
