    John E. (Jack) Fiscus entered the USAF in Oct. 1954. In Sept. of 1955 he entered the Aviation Cadet Program, graduating as a jet fighter in Jan. 1957. During his 23 years of active USAF service, he accumulated more than 4000 hours of flight time, including 186 combat missions during the Vietnam War in the RF-4C (Phantom II). Twice Chosen to attend the USAF Institute of technology Resident Program, he received a B. S. in Aerospace Engineering in 1965 and a M.S. in Systems Management in k1972. Follow-on USAF assignments found him with a principal role in the deployment of the USAF National airborne Command Post (E-4B), the USAF Airborne warning and control system (E-3 AWACS) and at NATO HQ in the initial cadre of the highly successful NATO AWACS Program. In 1977, following his USAF career, he accepted a position with the Boeing Co. in Seattle, WA. In his 21 years with Boeing , he was responsible for the direction of numerous international programs, including NATO AWACS coproduction in Germany, The Royal Saudi Air Force AWACS/Tanker program and, latterly, for international sales of all of Boeing’s airborne surveillance products, including the E-767 AWACS. He retired as an executive manager in 1998. His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with 8 OLC and the meritorious Service Medal.
