Lt. John E. (Jack) Frost, Ph.D., served in the USAAF from January 14, 1943 to December 23, 1945. Overseas, he was assigned to the 394th Bomb Squadron, 5th Bomb Group, 13th Air Force in the Pacific Theater.
Flew 44 missions that included bombing the Balikpappan oil refinery in Borneo, and the sinking by our plane of a Japanese cruiser during the battle of Leyte Gulf.
Awards included the Purple Heart (was shot down), three Air Medals, six Battle Stars, and two Presidential Citations.
