John H. Payne flew small airplanes from the day he was 16 years old. In WWII he was a B-24 pilot. Since 1946 he has owned and flown many planes including a B-17, several Cessnas including the Cessna 180 which he still owns and flies, a twin Beechcraft and many others. He has taught flying and promoted flying in the South Florida area. He has promoted the advancement of flying through the Buehler Foundation's gifts of which he is a trustee. He is an attorney and now 79 years old.
