    T/Sgt John K. Lauer (1923-1996), Hazleton, PA, proudly served his country during WWII as a radio operator aboard the B-17G Flying Fortress – “Hells a Poppin”. Stationed in Rattlesden, England, T/Sgt Lauer flew a full complement of missions and was highly decorated with:
    The Distinguished Flying Cross
    The Air Medal with Three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters
    The Good Conduct Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster
    The American Campaign Medal
    The European/African/Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with Four Bronze Stars
    The World War II Victory Medal
    and the The Presidential Unit Citation.
