    Born Jan. 3, 1922 in California. Entered USAAF in Sept. 1942. Graduated from Childress Army AF, Class 44-3 and commissioned a 2nd Lt. Bombardier-Navigator. Received R.T. U. training in B-26Marauders at Barksdale Field, LA. Subsequently assigned to the ETO with the Ninth AF, 322nd Bomb Group, 449th Bomb Sqdn. Stationed in England France and then Belgium.
    Flew 35 combat missions, 30 as lead Bombardier, before receiving flak wounds in his last mission over Augsburg, Germany on April19, 1945. Discharged Nov. 1945 at Beale AFB. Awarded DFC, Air Medal with six Oak Leaf Clusters and Purple Heart. Retired as Deputy Attorney General, state of California.
