    Mr. Ward began his flying career when he soloed at 21 years of age. He entered the Air Force in 1959 as an Aviation Cadet. Mr. Ward has logged over 2400 hours of flight time over the years. In that time, he has flown 46 different types of aircraft ranging from sailplanes to a Mooney Mite to a DeHaviland Beaver to T-33s and T-37s. Mr. Ward served an active role in the Civil Air Patrol as a LtCol, in the Birmingham Aero Club, and in the Birmingham Soaring Society where he has logged over 2300 tows. Mr. Ward’s involvement in all these organizations allows him to share and introduce the experience of flying to people young and old, which he has done and will continue to do.
