    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Leader

    Honored by:
    LTC John A. Vanderpoel (Ret.)

He was born in Torrington, Connecticut while his father was in the South Pacific. He was educated at numerous location including three in Japan during his father's assignment in that country. He entered the US Marines at Parris Island, where he was graduated in the top ten of his class. He particularly distinguished himself at Parris Island by devising a gun-handling system such that his squad could fire more than three times as many shots as any other squad in any given length of time. His scheme continues to baffle the instructors at Parris Island.
Following his service, he was graduated from East Coast Aero Tech as a licensed aircraft mechanic, and worked as such for twelve years on both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft when he went into industry as a maintenance supervisor, first of machinery to make computer chips and then latter of printing plant equipment and finally overall maintenance for The Worcester Gazette, a prominent New England newspaper. As of 2001 he had not yet retired.
