Jon Kolba was born April 27, 1954 in Fargo, ND. He is a commercial pilot, recipient of the Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) Montgolfier Diploma in 2001. Had a world duration record in AX6 balloon in 2000. Balloon Federation of America (BFA) first ever winner of the BFA Long Jump Challenge in 1991.
Pioneered Aerostar's first double walled balloon envelope which went on to get a number of world records. Member of the national Aeronautic Association and Life Member of the BFA. Career firefighter in Moorhead, MN, and Sioux Falls, SD.
