    Joe Bouley was a 1977 Distinguished Graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln AFROTC program. He completed Universal Pilot Training at Williams AFB, AZ in January 1979.

    From 1979-1981 he flew the OV-10A Bronco as a Forward Air Controller/Army Liaison Officer with the 19th Tactical Air Support Squadron, Osan AB, Korea.

    From 1982 to 1984 he flew the A-10A Thunderbolt II with the 18th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Eielson AFB, AK. Joe was also a member of the four-man Alaskan Air Command "Gunsmoke 83" worldwide air-to-ground gunnery meet team.

    From 1984 to 1986 he was assigned to the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Suwon AB, Korea. During this tour, he completed and was named a distinguished graduate of the USAF Fighter Weapons School at Nellis AFB, NV. From 1986 to 1989 Joe was assigned as the A-10/OV-10 Operations Inspector with the Hq PACAF/IG at Hickam AFB, HI.

    In 1989 he was a student at the Armed Forces Staff College, Norfolk, VA, graduating in 1990. From 1990 to 1991 Joe was assigned to the 415th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Tonopah Test Range, NV, flying the F-117A stealth fighter. He flew 21 combat missions during Desert Storm.

    From 1991 to 1992 he was assigned as the A-10 Operations Officer, USAF Fighter Weapons School. From 1993 to 2000 Joe was a reservist assigned to the US Pacific Command/J31. He retired in January 2000. Decorations include:
    - Distinguished Flying Cross with V
    - 3 Meritorious Service Medals
    - 4 Air Medals

    Since 1992 he has been a pilot with United Airlines, qualified on the Boeing 737, 777, 747-400, and Airbus 319/320.
