Joseph V. Cotrone took part in the European theater in WWII in Central Europe, the Rhineland, and the Ardennes. He received the European/African/Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, an Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
